Precision Health FAQs

1. What is the Precision Health program?

Precision Health is the advanced testing program at Steady State Health, priced at $2,495 cash-pay with all labs included. It combines nutrigenetic DNA testing through Nutrigenomix, cellular micronutrient testing through Genova Diagnostics, genetic hormone pathway analysis, methylation analysis, and histamine and genetic mapping. The program produces a personalized written report and includes a one-hour consultation to translate the results into a customized health plan.

Precision Health is designed for women whose standard labs look normal but who still feel exhausted, foggy, hormonally off, or metabolically stuck. The program is most useful when conventional perimenopause workups have not produced answers, when a woman has tried hormone therapy without expected results, or when family history points to genetic variants in methylation or histamine pathways. It is generally not the right starting point — most patients begin with Steady Start and add Precision Health only if needed.

The Comprehensive Lab Panel ($429 add-on) covers over 140 biomarkers including advanced lipids, nutrients, thyroid antibodies, insulin, cortisol, and inflammation markers. Precision Health ($2,495) goes deeper by adding nutrigenomic DNA testing, cellular micronutrient testing, and genetic pathway analysis for hormones, methylation, and histamine, plus a one-hour expert consultation. The Lab Panel measures current levels; Precision Health explains why those levels are what they are at a genetic level.

Precision Health is a testing and consultation program, not a prescribing program. The $2,495 fee covers labs, the genetic and cellular testing suite, the written report, and a one-hour consultation to interpret results. If the consultation identifies a need for hormone therapy, ADHD medication, or other prescriptions, those are managed through Steady Momentum or Insurance-Based Care for Oregon and Washington residents, or referred to a local provider for patients in other states.

Precision Health typically takes six to eight weeks end-to-end. Genetic and cellular testing takes longer to process than standard labs, with most results returning within three to five weeks of sample collection. Once all results are in, the personalized report is prepared and the one-hour consultation is scheduled. Patients who want faster initial answers usually begin with Steady Start and add Precision Health afterward rather than starting here.

Precision Health is worth the cost when standard testing has already failed to explain symptoms, when a patient is considering long-term hormone therapy and wants genetic context for risk and metabolism, or when nutrigenomic data will meaningfully change diet and supplement decisions. For most women in early perimenopause with clear symptoms, the simpler $695 Steady Start evaluation is enough. Steady State Health offers a free 20-minute consult to help decide which level of testing fits.

Cash pay only. Not insurance. Cannot be submitted for reimbursement. Available to patients in Oregon and Washington only.
