Why We Built Steady State Health

A Better Way to Care for Women in Perimenopause, Menopause and ADHD

Traditional Care Separates These

We treat them together — because in real life, they always were.

Hormones

Estrogen, progesterone, cortisol, testosterone — and how they shift in perimenopause and menopause.

Brain Health

ADHD, focus, mood, anxiety, and the dopamine connection most providers overlook in midlife women.

Metabolism

Weight, blood sugar, insulin resistance, and energy — all connected to your hormonal landscape.

“In real life, hormones, mental health, and metabolism are deeply connected. We treat them that way.”

What Was Missing

Too many women were navigating perimenopause, menopause, and ADHD symptoms while seeing multiple providers and still not getting clear answers.

The problem was never the patient. It was the system.

There was no clear place to go for whole-person care that actually connected the dots. So we built one.

WHO IS THIS FOR

Built for Women Who Have Been Dismissed

You feel off but your labs keep coming back normal.

You are navigating perimenopause or menopause and want real answers.

You struggle with focus, overwhelm, or ADHD symptoms that have gotten worse.

You have tried to lose weight but feel like your body is working against you.

You want a provider who connects the dots instead of handing you a referral.

“You are not broken. Your symptoms are not random. And you shouldn’t have to figure this out alone.”

STEADY STATE HEALTH • MEET YOUR PROVIDER

About me

Hi! I'm Josie Cowburn, DNP, FNP-C

As a doctorally prepared nurse practitioner, I’m committed to listening deeply, believing my patients, and applying advanced, evidence-based care to uncover the full story behind their symptoms — so they receive the answers and outcomes they deserve.

I founded Steady State Health because I’ve been that patient. My own perimenopause symptoms were dismissed. My ADHD went undiagnosed for years. And the complexity of conditions like hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and MTHFR were things I had to connect myself.

Those experiences shaped how I practice. Every patient gets time, clinical depth, and a provider who takes their symptoms seriously. I specialize in perimenopause and menopause care, ADHD in women, and metabolic health — and I practice telehealth across Oregon and Washington.

If you’ve been told your labs are normal but you don’t feel normal, you’re in the right place.
